MICROSUCTION
This involves the use of a medical grade suction machine. It can remove wax, debris and foreign bodies from the ear guided by a microscope. It is similar to a very small hoover, very fast and effective. The machine can be quite loud and the person can feel a mild pulling sensation. At times there may be a feeling of dizziness and a cough. There is typically an immediate resolution of symptoms and no downtime needed.

This involves flushing out excess wax with warm water.  A machine is used so that a controlled flow of water is gently squirted into the ear. The pressure and flow is controlled by the clinician. The excess water drains from the ear and is collected in a container called a ‘noots tank.’ The procedure is painless, a lot of people actually really enjoy the sensation of the warm water; others can become dizzy- this is resolved quickly by rebalancing the pressures of the ears.
